MSC Cruises Ships

MSC Cruises currently has a fleet on ten ships that fit into two different types of fleet. The two different types of fleet include the Premium Fleet and the Classic Fleet. Virtually all of the MSC ships have something to do with music.

The Premium Fleet consists of the newer ships and includes MSC Armonia, MSC Lirica, MSC Musica, MSC Opera, MSC Poesia, MSC Orchestra and MSC Sinfonia. The flagship of the cruise line is MSC Poesia, she is currently the newest addition to the fleet and the sister ship to MSC Musica and MSC Orchestra.

The Classic Fleet of ships consists of just two ships, these are the two oldest ships in the current fleet and include; Rhapsody and MSC Melody. 

MSC Fantasia that will enter service for MSC Cruises in 2008 will be the start of the Fantasia Class of ship. She is two be joined by new ships; MSC Splendida in 2009 and MSC Magnifica in 2010.

The new MSC Fantasia ship will be the newest addition to the MSC Cruises fleet in December 2008. Her first cruise will see her depart Genoa on 20th December 2008 calling at Rhodes, Alexandria, Messina and Naples before returning to Genoa on 28th December 2008.
